Local Outings and Service Projects

Sierra Club outings provide enjoyment and stimulation by the places we visit, the activities we make available, and the knowledge that is derived from experiences which are shared by our participants.

This page lists upcoming local Sierra Club outings and Service Projects.  Links to other organization's Outings are also provided.

Except for Quetico, information and registration instructions for outings are typically published a month in advance so you can plan ahead.  If there is an outing or service project you would like our Sierra Club group to be involved with, please contact our Outings Chair found on the About Us page.

Quetico Boundary Waters Annual Canoe Adventure Outings

Travel with other Wisconsin Sierra Club enthusiasts on a special adventure into a timeless and pristine wilderness called Quetico.

For eight days and seven nights, experience the life and land of French voyageurs, Ojibwa Indians and British trappers in Ontario's Quetico Provincial Park, just north of the Boundary Waters Canoe Area Wilderness.

You will be able to explore ancient pathways and waterways with eight other modern-day voyageurs, by viewing wildlife and historic rock art with opportunities to fish in pristine, drinkable lakes, far removed from the noise and distractions of modern life.

2010 Quetico Outings should be published after December 1st!

Local Area Service Projects
No service projects known currently

Many environmental, park and trail organizations volunteers to help with yearly service projects.   We know many of our members like to get involved with these so we try to list those we are made aware of below.

If you know of a project, please contact our Webmaster with the name, organization, location and directions, date and time along any specific clothing or tools they should bring and contact information.

Please inform Mike Sebzda, our group's service coordinator, if you participate in a service project we've listed so we can track membership involvement in these efforts.

OUTINGS LIABILITY WAIVER AND CARPOOLING

A signed liability waiver is required from each participate in order to attend a Sierra Club outing.  If you would like to read a copy of the waiver prior to the outing, please see http://www.sierraclub.org/outings/chapter/forms/.

In the interest of facilitating the logistics of some outings, it is customary that the participants make carpooling arrangements.  Outing descriptions will indicate if a planning meeting prior to the outing will be held so participants can get acquainted and work out travel arrangements.  Otherwise, carpooling, ride sharing or anything similar is strictly a private arrangement among the participants.

The Sierra Club does not have insurance and assumes no liability for carpooling participants.  Participants assume the risks associated with this travel.
