to coordinate paddling trips , mostly in
Wisconsin.
We have about 45 trips per year, late March through late October, on
both quiet-water and white-water rivers, guided by volunteer leaders.
A complete trip list is published here and
in the March-April issue of the Muir View , the John
Muir chapter's bimonthly newsletter. Usually, shorter lists of remaining
trips are published in subsequent issues.
to
promote on-the-water safety and improve paddling skills.
We hold teaching clinics for beginning
whitewater and quiet water paddlers in May/June of each year.
to
support river conservation organizations.
We give financial support to the work of the River Alliance of Wisconsin , American
Rivers , and American Whitewater. Some trip
leaders participate in National River Cleanup Week.
to
facilitate communication among members of RTS.
In late January we send each member an annual meeting report, a current
list of the section's members with addresses and phone numbers, and a preview list of the trips planned for the year.
