Motion #107, passed by JFC, allows large-scale hydro power to be counted towards Wisconsin's requirements of generating 10% renewable energy by 2015. The JFC motion encourages Wisconsin to purchase power from Manitoba Power rather than creating jobs by generating that power here in Wisconsin as the Clean Energy Act of 2006 intended. It is imperative that the JFC motion is repealed before reaching the Governor's desk. We believe making Wisconsin a lead in clean renewable energy is vital for the environment and our economy.
Action Needed
The State Budget was signed into law as 2005 ACT 20, on Oct. 26, 2007.
